19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's initial title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on court had led some to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to force a final set.

Moutet saved 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
